If you are asking whether reentry permit is a guarantee of your successful entry - it is not.
For instance, if you are absent from the US for more than 180 days, you will still need to prove upon your entry that you live permanently in the US.
If your question means whether having reentry permit is better than not having it in terms of not being denied an entry, that is true.

does anyone know how long it usually take to get a re entry permit.
i got my temp. GC , and its valid until june. my problem is i am currently doing my post graduate work, and i do not want to leave it unfinished. i have only one more year to complete. so we are planing to go to US in march and activate our GC. then my husband will stay there , while my daughter and my self return to complete my studies. i will be finishing my studies next march, but to be on the safe side, we are planing to apply for reentry permits for both my self and my daughter.
the problem is, as i am a scolarship holder, i cannot leave the cuuntry for a period of more than 3 weeks (i have to be there and study!!!).
so my question is will three weeks enough to process the re entry permit. i heard that you have to do a biomety or some thing and that takes time.
does any one has any idea.
