Re-Entry Permit : Questions

hello

i won a greencard from lottery about 3 years ago. now i am in us :) it being over a year. but i think i am gonna get back to my country. today i decided to fill out the I-131 thing via using e-filling.

first question is : can i just leave the country after i fill it out? or is there anything that i have to wait for. :confused:

the other thing is what am i supposed to put in Expected length of trip part. i mean, do i have to put days like 500 days or week like 71. i am asking that because only three characters can be fit in. :confused:

------------ better paper file, with efiling you may have to go for FP and may have to send supporting documents

---------- once you file and papers reach USCIS you can go out and Re Entry permit will be sent to your US address and then somebody can send it to you

i have to send the form with the check and photographs, right?

if yes, what is the specific format of the photos?

and how much money? :)

---------- Fees Check, Form I-131, 2 photographs passport style(back side of photographs write your name,A#, DOB with pencil)

and how much money?
------------go to USCIS site, look for forms and fees you can also fille up the form and then print. I think fee is 170

* what if I change my mind after six months while I am in my country. can I get back to usa with my greencard? :confused:

----------- I have seen Reentry permit approved in 3 months and also approved after 6-7 months.

you can file reentry permit in US before you go out and can write the info of US consulate in your country and Permit will be sent to US consulate and US consulate will inform you to collect it by writing to your address out of US. if you write US address on form to send reentry permit then they will send it to US address and somebody from your US address need to send you.

but i live by myself. there is nobody to send it to me. do you think is there any way to give my address the one in europe?

No.

But it might be possible to have it sent to an embassy, and you pick it up there. Best to wait to have it in your hands before departure.
