RD 8/28/01 Interview

I'm doubly screwed. My wife and I's cases were transferred to the local office today. :(

We got an RFE for current employment letter on 8/2, and responded on 8/28. I don't think it had enough info on my duties and I used AC21; so they transfered me to the Atlanta office.

Now I wait some more. Any ideas on how long Atlanta takes to schedule an interview?

Oh man... that is bad news.. May be it is good.. I don't how long it is going to take in Atlanta, I'm in Boston. Do a search on this thread for Atllanta transfers and you will get some info. I pray you get interview call soon...

TheRealCanadian,
I also live in ATlanta and local transfer scenario has been bothering me fron quite some time even though it too early fro me to think about it, my RD is April 02.
I searched this website in forum "485 in Texas Service Center" and their found couple of posts for Atlanta Local transfers, you may want to do the same, in one of the post wait time was as far backlogged as two years.

Good Luck !!!

TheRealCanadian, sorry to hear about this ...

TheRealCanadian, sorry to hear about this ...

My case is also similar, I had a RFE for Employment letter & I too used AC21.
But I am trying to understand your statement "I don't think it had enough info on my duties and I used AC21".

What made you think this. Was there any difference in "Job Title" between two jobs ? Did the RFE ask for any other thing other than Emp. letter.

I would appreciate if you can tell me about it as I am also worried now

The LC job title was for a "Sr. e-biz Consultant" and I am now an "Application System Specialist" - I do the same work, just in house now.

The RFE was for the employment letter only. It was put together by my HR department, and it pretty much said it was in support of the exisitng EB3 application, but didn't specifically mention my duties. Looking back, this probably did it - but it was OKd by no fewer than two seperate law firms, so I didn't insist.

STUPID, STUPID ME. OTHERWISE TODAY I WOULD HAVE A GREEN CARD; INSTEAD I HAVE WORRIES AND MONTHS MORE WAITING.

RealCanadian,

Sorry to hear about your transfer. I always thought that if INS issues a RFE then most likely will not transfer the case - as before INS proved me wrong. Really sorry abt yr case.
You have been very patient all this while so just hang in there a lil bit longer. I know it better said than done.
Looking at yr case I am really scared myself, even I haven't heard back from INS since my RFE (08/20). How did you find out yr case status ? Did you call the IIO or was yr online status updated?

WWW system. Updated around 11:30AM.

I think they are blasting through the leftover RFE cases now. You may be in luck soon.

When I replied to my RFE, my lawyer insisted that my company provide the same title job as on LC, irrespective of the fact that my current title is completely different. I guess we think this is not a big deal but it really matters.

Could it because you live in different service center? I think even using AC21, it might be better to stick in same service center. Altlanta is in TSC.

Well last week when I called my case was still in work distribution area. So my hopes are still grounded. At this ponit if they approve my EAD by the end of this week I will be the happies person or else I am screwed.

Good luck to you!

Sorry to hear abt your transfer, Atlanta is one f**** up INS center. Would you mind sharing any info on timing for local interview at Atlanta ?

Thanks !!!

1) EB1 case- some of the eb1 CASES HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO BE TRANSFERRED. Don't know why?
2) NIW cases.
3) Recently married - especially where spouses work too.
4) out of status at some point or the other.
5) taxes not paid at some time or the other.
6) FP match hit in FBI database.

None of those - EB3, never out of status. Always paid taxes, and the FP came back non-ident for my wife and myself. Married back in 1998.

My bet is that the employment letter wasn't good enough for them. From what I've seen, Atlanta is taking 365-450 days for I-485s *FILED* at that District Officer, so assuming 120-180 days for fingerprinting and all that crap, I may be looking at a 3-5 month wait. We'll see.
