hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.........

never thought it was that easy. yesterday my boss pushed through our company's travel department to "get the damn thing done". they went through some kind of expedite service, saying it could "cause irriversible financial damage" to a U.S. entity. immigration responded the same day via fax with the tracking number.....

I guess you just have to have the right channel...

Yes, my lawyer also told me that he can have my RTD in one day if I get employment in UN. He needs evidence of employment though. If I get job at UN (hopefully I will), I will have my RTD processed via my attorney.

Can you share with us what kind of expedited service did they use? You must know some of details or should be in a position to find out..aren't you?

The organization which I interned for before attending law school can help people obtain travel documents from DHS very quickly IF THERE IS A GOOD REASON. The DHS has well-established protocols for this type of requests.

I just called them and the service rep told me that RTD was mailed out today via Fedex. I said "I did not see this online." "yep, it takes 24 hours to update our system."

Lazer, there are 6 reasons that you can request expedition, including it can cause substantial financial loss to a U.S. entity. I think it also include humanitarian reason (like your grandma is dead) or "national interest". You should have a full supporting documentation. I think the easiest way is to have your boss irritated and let him to "kick the f**king ass of immigration". I work for a big brokerage firm and they do this like eating breakfast. My boss and I never knew until talking to our outside travelling agency. Believe it or not, the travelling agency has several attorneys. Well, it all depends on what they say. My title is SVP (well, if you work in a brokerage firm, you'll know how many SVP or MD they have, plus a 25 year old SVP is a little peculiar.)

to windywd,
Did this mean that you submitted the app and got approved on the same day?

Or you already did apply for RTD a while ago but haven't heard and then used the 'service' of your company's connection to get it?

I am just curious. Like Lazer said, it would be good if you could share your complete experience to all of us here as we still need to deal with RTD until we get our citizenship.

To Lee,

I applied in March and they REIed me sometime ago. I never heard back from them. In the "normal" process, if they request for additional info, it takes another 60 days to review. But the "service" said that they have push for 48-hour decision AFTER APPLICATION SUBMISSION.

I did not have experience for that quick response after submission because I didnot know until yesterday. Will try next year. :)
