Gurus:

My wife applied for a replacement card (since she never received one
and USCIS claimed that they had mailed the original and told us to apply
for replacement card) using I90.

She got biometric appt last month and she did that... Will she get an
appt to present the new set of photos at the USCIS Office OR will she
get the GC with her old photo?

If anyone had experience on lost GC please share your exp.

Thanks

----- if she did the biometric then she may get the card with old photo

If anyone had experience on lost GC please share your exp.
-------- please search the threads. many have bad exp of getting the card replaced. few waited about 6 months to get card replced or corrected.
Thanks

My wife got the GC y'day in the mail

Folks:

Finally, my wife got her GC y'day in the mail with NO ERRORS :)

Here are the details:

Service center: TSC

* GC approved on 6/24/05
* Stamping done on 7/5/05
* Card never received as we had changed our address since filing I485 (but
we did file our AR11 - you know that filing AR11 is fulla s**t right?)
* Sent a mail in Nov 05 claiming that "the card was never received".
* Got a mail back from USCIS in Dec 05 that "the card was sent to our old
address and so we should file I90 as card lost or stolen"
* Applied for replacement card in March 06
* Got biometrics appt in April 06 - 4/11/06 to be precise
* Got GC in the mail on 5/15/06

Thanks to y'all.

------------- did she sent her photohraphs or taken Photograp at the time of biometrics appt on April 06 ??

Ginnu:

She didn't have to send the photos when she took biometrics nor any pics were taken at the time of biometrics... The pics that she provided to the Officer when getting I551 stamp was the one used on the plastic card.

Is this what you're asking?

Did you called INS for card and which letter or form you used for asking for card. As my spuse is also waiting for card since Feb 06. His was approved in Feb 06 from VSC.

b2004:

From your message, it seems like your spouse never received the card after approval. If this is the case, then you should call your service center and find out if they have mailed your card and what date did they mailed the card.

If you have changed your address since filing I485, even if you had filed AR11
(which is fulla s**t in my opinion), it will make no sense to the service centers and they will still be mailing to your old (or older) address.

My wife filed I90 with an option "Card lost or stolen" so we had to pay
around $300 to get this s**t over with...

As I said in the 1st paragraph, you will need to find out from the Service Center before you can even file for I90.. Post your complete info so either me OR anyone with the similar experience shed more light..

Good luck to y'all

We called service center but seems like they dont have any info, they said wait for one more month (till july)

* 485 approved - 02/16/06 (from VSC)
* approval letter send to old address and then resend to new address (march-06)
* duplicate approval received (April 06)
* LUD april 06 - we have mailed duplicate approval

seems like they haven't applied for card as we never received any welcome letter or anything after receiving duplicate approval.

b2004:

My sincere advise to you is to wait for a month and call USCIS again and
find out the status. If you don't hear a satisfactory reply from the rep,
go ahead and file I90 with "Card never received" option. You don't have to pay any $ to file for this option.

In such situation, USCIS will respond to you either way - either they sent the card to your old address or they never sent it - so you will get to know the status of your card. Also, at that point, the burden will be on USCIS to respond to you, for sure.

If I were you, I would go ahead and file I90 with "Card never received" option.

Good luck

ps: I am not an attorney and not planning to be one. Getting the help of a competent attorney is advised.

I think I wait for a month and then go to service center to find out with them.

Thanks for your advice, I sure file I90 after a month.

Thanks.
