Quick question about sponsor for GC

My question is, if the sponsor for the green card ( an actual person not a business) files his taxes jointly with his wife, so on the tax form would show him and her, but he is the actual sponsor, is he the only one that needs to file the Affidavit for the applicant? or does she have to file one also because she is jointly with him on the tax form? Btw he qualifies directly by himself for the sponsorship, does not need wife's income...
