--------------------------My passport has a middle name.
My green card does not have a middle name.
I remember it filling for green card application.
------------------check the copy of form I-485 that you filed (copy may be with lawyer) if on Form I-485 you wrote you MIDDLE name then it was USCIS error on Card and you should have filed form I-90 after getting card.
Application sec.B says that fill it as appears on green card. Should I fill the middle name in my application?
---------------fill the name as on Card and also explain on cover letter your full name. First name.... Middle name... Last name and attach the copy of I-485 form explain that your name should be according to Form I-485.
Why bother to include a cover letter with the full name? The N-400 already asks for the full name in the first question.
What is the benefit? The difference in names is information which the form already anticipates, so why bother to be redundant? They know it is common for the green card name to not match the full legal name, so the form provides separate questions for legal name and green card name, and the instructions even say "Write your name exactly as it appears on your card, even if it is misspelled." It is not some unusual circumstance that needs a separate explanation.what is the harm if one include a cover letter?
I agree with you Jackolantern. My green card and passport had different names. I just indicated that on the N-400 form and never had an issue. What is the benefit?
