Hi, kinda a complicated story but i really need help :)
My brother and I got our as8 GC last April, since our mother had an asylum status, and me and him got the as8 GC as an aslyee derivatives, after being in USA for 2 years now. Me and him wanted to go visit our home country AND our mom will STAY in sate at the time we are out of state..

My question is:
Can me and my brother go back to visit our grandparents in our home country (egypt) for like 3 weeks and then come back before schools start; since i will have to come back to USA for my freshmen year at college? (Also want to notify that the danger mentioned in my mother's asylum case was most likely on her not us)

Are we gonna be asked at the airport in USA why we have been in our country and stuff? (and what kind of questions)

Is it possible not to allow us to re-enter USA? even by mentioning the reasons for travel to COP: like grandparents illness visiting, no more danger on us, my college stuff in USA, also that our mom is still in state and not even willing to leave! (like just saying that our life is basically will kept going in USA, and egypt was just a visit not more)

I appreciate your help... and need it as soon as possible! :) Thanks.

If your category is as8, and you have no fear of direct persecution in Egypt, generally it would be ok to go, but its better to do so for a good reason, such as a sick relative or something. Having said that, it is unlikely you will be hassled when entering the us. Wen you apply for naturalization, they could ask you why you went depending on the mood and demeanor of the office interviewing you. If you feel you can explain that your trip was legitimate and does not invalidate your fear of persecution, if any, you will likely be approved.

But, this is all depends on what you use to travel. Do you have an Egyptian passport? If not, I do not recommend going to your cop using a travel document.

Thanks for ur replying .. But i still dont get the point if there is any chance that the immigration officer at the airport takes my green card after asking me questions that he doesnt like the answers of? and Yes, i do have Egyptian passport!
And doesnt it help saying that my mother is not willing at at all to leave us and that my college future and everything is basically settled in us?? (as well as saying that my grandmother was sick) Thanks..

At the airport, nobody will hassle you. They even advise LPRs using travel documents to use their passports. So, until you apply for citizenship, you won't be bothered by US officials.

At your citizenship interview, the IO can ask you why you went, but might not ask you anything at all. If they do ask you, you can explain that you are a derivative asylee, and were not in direct danger if your mother did not go with you on the trip. Take her passport to the interview if you like.
