Question reg Finger prints while leaving US

I will be going to India for 2 weeks vacation (POE Chicago)....Should I give my FP before leaving and surrender I-94 or is it just returning my I-94...I remember reading in Jan-Feb '04 something on this line....I went to canada by air in Jan '04 and I did not have to give FP while leaving but did it while entering.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Just submit the I94. FP will be done when you come back.
