Question on State issued DL/ID for Interview

When we moved to GA first of the year, I changed my driver's license but my wife still has her old DL from the other state. Can she take that as the state issued identification for her citizenship interview or would she have to get a GA DL prior to the interview? She did get a YL that asked for it (state issued DL/ID).

Any thoughts or similar experiences?

If your wife moved with you to GA, she needs to have a GA DL for interview.

Besides, not having a Georgia State License or a Georgia Number Plate after a permanent move to the State of Georgia, is an offense. If a cop ever pulls your wife over, she will be ticketed for this violation. So, regardless of the interview, first ask her to get her GA license.

Besides, don't even ask her to attend the interview without having the GA license. There is a reason behind why the YL clearly states for "state" issued ID/license.

(Another minor offense in Georgia is if you don't update your address on your license within 10 days of moving within anywhere in Georgia.)

HI
Besides all of the above-mentioned, if you can not produce that state's ID/DL to the IO, how can you prove that you are the resident of that state? I remenber that the IO looked very closely at the DL in the interview.( I am not sure if he was looking at the address)

It's not just about proving residence in the state; for a marriage-based interview they also want to see that you're living together in the same residence. Having DL's with different addresses (even if in the same state) would conflict with that.

Mickey_32 - Please note that if you are in and around Atlanta, getting in line to get a driving-license is not that easy as all the DMVs are very crowded. As you have another month left for your interview, please ask your wife to go get her DL ASAP. If you are around the Cobb County area, go to the Cobb Services real early. If you go around 8 AM or so, which is when they open, I think, you can probably be out by 1 to 1.5 hours. If you go during the afternoon or so, it will be crowded. Don't even try to go there on Saturdays. I think they are closed on Mondays. Check their website.
