Is there a limit of how much cash you can carry with you when you enter/exit U.S.A.

I remember samebody told me about arabic women ..she have $13000 cash
and what happen next the officer in the airport give her hard time after he found that she been get food stamps and her name in the wellfair program.
another guy have small text book ..and in this book he wrote how much money he have to give his sister ..how much money his freind have to paid him back..the problem,... he wrote all the number according to his country currency ..I mean the amount of money was so long with too many zero!!!seem to be a million of dollars.
the officer for same reson search his bag and found the book ..then he ask him :this is freinds phone number or what? he told him:no sir this amount of money I have to ..anyway the put him in the small office for hours until he clearify the situation.![]()
