Question for K1 visa!!!

Hi all,
My name is Nathan, i recently engaged with my gf in VN, i am about to start filling for paperwork in order to get her here by K1 visa. My questions is that My net income this year is around $12,500, i noticed that the minimum income needs to be at $18,000. How can i improve my chance to get her here? If i do have some money in the bank, how much will be good enough? If i get a joint sponsor, how much income will we looking at in order to qualify?
Please help me, any answers will be greatly appreciated.

If you are short by $5500 on the income scale, you need assetts that are 5 times that amount.
If you get a joint sponsor, he/she needs to take his/her dependents plus one and then look at the income requirments.

Thanks for your replying! Where can i look at the income requirement for joint sponsor? Is that the federal poverty guidelines? What will be better off if i am filling the paperwork by myself or a joint sponsor? Please let me know. Thanks
 
How much more percentage that we have to add in if a joint sponsor have 3 ppls in his family: him, his wife and a kid in order to qualify? Does a joint sponsor need to be a US citizen? Please let me know.

US citizen or US permanent resident.
