Hi to everybody,
I am now ready to go to germany finaly, but I had a Question before leaving the US, I dont have a I-94 I have the one card that you get before the green card and your picture is on that, I got it from my Local service, now I am still waiting for my Plastic Green Card, and the one card will expire soon, what Should I do before leaving the country, that would be nice if someone would write me, thank you

Buddy,

Please at least be kind enough to update us about your situation. The last time you were here you claimed that your application for a Refugee Travel Document was denied. What happened since then? I am sure most people here are willing to share what they know, but it has to be a two-way street.

Have a good trip.

RTD

Hi, I hired a Lawer about 2 days later I talked to Comgressman Mike turner, what the reason was that they requasted me to send them 2 new Pictures but since I never recived any letter they still proccesed my case, the letter went to our responser but they are not in Ohio anymore so now I send them the pictures about 3 weeks ago, yesterday the online message was that my case has been approven august 19th now I am just waiting for my travel document to arrive and wanted to know what I need to do before I leave the US so I can come back without problems.

Hi hashem_I

I don't think you need to do anything else before leaving th US. What I would do is just make sure you carry the I551 card with you together with your travel document. I also know that you don't need a visa to enter Germany using your RTD, but as a backup make an internet print out from the german consulate or embassy website which states that Assylees with RTD don't need need a visa just in case INS officer askes you.

Thank you very much, I know that I dont need a Visa because I went Last year but my I551 is only valid for 2 more month and I leave next month and I will stay 3 month in Germany, now just wondering do I have to my Local Office to get my new I551?

Thank you to everybody, I just checked my mail and I got my Travel Document finally, thanks god it took soooo long, but its the blue one I expected the new one which they say is green, but dont really metter anymore the point is I am free To Travel now.

Thank you so much.
;)

Hi I looked everywhere I cant find a Website that really tells you that you dont need a Visa, but I went last year, and I found a website that told me I do not need a Visa, but I will write the german Embassy and just print the reply to my Email before I go,

Guys,

I looked up the Geman consulate website and it didn't give a direct statement that asylees don't need a visa to enter Germany but it did speak about reeentry permit. Here is what I found

Required Documents:

- fully completed application form

- two passport photographs

- valid national passport and one copy

- original of valid US alien registration card or valid US resident visa (type A, E, F, G, H, I, J, L, O, R) and one copy

- your current bank statement (I don't have a bank account / My friends in Germany pay for my visit) and one copy

- proof of health insurance coverage for trips outside the US (Why do I need health insurance?) and one copy

- reference letter from your employer (I'm self-employed and run my own business)

- proof of group travel/hotel reservation/airline reservation and one copy

- visa fees

Please note: In individual cases, you may be required to provide additional documents.

If you guys click on national passport, which is requirment #3, you will get the following answer:

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

I cannot get a national passport from my country of origin but I do hold a"US Permit to reenter". Can I use this permit to travel to Germany?

We expect you to submit your national passport. However, in rare instances, a"US permit to Reenter" can be accepted if it is evident that you cannot get a national passport from your country of origin. Please be informed that visa applications of "Permit to Reenter"-holders take about 7 days to be processed.

THANKS, GUYS, FOR TRYING YOUR BEST TO HELP.
IT STILL NOT THAT CLEAR TO ME.
I DO NOT NEED ANY REENTRY PERMIT, IF I HAVE RTD, RIGHT?
I WILL CALL TO EMBASSY IN FEW DAYS (I'M VERY BUSY NOW) TO SEE WHAT I CAN FIND OUT TOO.

THANKS AGAIN. KEEP ON INFORMING, PLEASE, IF YOU WILL HAVE SOME NEW FACTS.

Visa for Germany

Hi@all
Today I recieved the letter from German Embassy in Washington about visa for a refugee Travel Document thats what they wrote me.

Botschaft der Bundesrepublik Deutschland Washington Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany

To Whom IT May Concern

Holders of the

United States Travel Document for Refugees

are not required to obtain a tourist visa to enter the Federal Republic of Germany if they stay no langer than 90 days.

The travel document needs to be valid for at least four months after entering the Federal Republic of Germany.

that is good Hashem_I.
the german consulate website has been changed that is why you couldn't find the refrence to RTD holders.
what did you do? did u call them or mailed them a request?

Hi

I knew I dont need a visa because I've been over there 2 times without visa, but I was just wondering, I wrote them from the website, and I dont think they change the laws,

I just recieved an email from the germans, they confirmed that a holder of a blue RTD doesn't require a visa.
I also spoke to them on the phone and I asked them about the new green color RTD, and she said they don't know anything about that and I should come to the consulate and show them the document.

Are you using email for Press Office (consulpress@germany-info.org for NY) or which one you take for using, if not secret?

Thanks.
