Hi guys, It's me again.
Could somebody answer me a question: I receive last week my EAD (1st time) but also, at the same time, I did the application for my wife and daughter (7 years old), because somebody told me that it is the way to them to obtain a SSN (I needed to include my wife in my bank account, for insurance, include them in my apartment lease contract, etc.). After 2 weeks just mine arrived. Somebody knows the reason? could be because I'm main applicant and their are my dependents? That's mean that my wife is not able to work with EAD? Or (I hope) it is just a delay??

By de way, everything is rolling better, with my EAD in hand, I'm looking for better options of job to support our expenses.

God bless you guys and good luck for everybody on this large stones road.

Hey,

Yes they can get their employment cards as long as you stated on the asylum form that they were also applying for asylum. It looks like to be a processing delay. What does the online status say about their cases?

Best of luck as you guys move forward.

You do not need an EAD to get SSN. Go the the SSA office with proof of asylum (judges letter, I-94 with Asylum seal, approval notice for CIS) and as long as both your wife and daughter have been approved for asylum they will get SSNs

They do not have asylum yet. Their application is in limbo.

Thanks for read and answers.

Thankful: the on-line info says that I'm approved (of course I received the EAD card already) but my wife and daughter status says: still pending, in process, or something like that. USCIS send them the letter of confirmation.

As Thankful said, our status is "in process, still pending" (also I am not sure if this delay is normal part of the process, or not, please check my dates in bottom. I know people whom receive the approval of assylum, recently after 2 months).

Today, we went SSA and a nice person told us that my wife and daughter have to wait until USCIS send me an answer. In this case, after wait 30 days without receive an EAD under assylum claim (do not be confuse with a regular EAD, that is 90 days), you can go to USCIS office and ask in person for the EAD.
Finally, as she recomend us, I did an on-line appoinment for ask the EAD directly, because they are waiting for more than 30 days.

Good luck for everyone,
