Question about the date on I-94 when use AP to enter US.

Last Nov I entered US with AP, no problem at all. However, today I just noticed the new I-94 card they gave me upon entry says: "Paroled until 11/23/06...", -- just one year from the date of entry. I am confused by this date.

Does it mean that this I-94 will expire on 11/23/06? What if my GC is still pending at that time? (which I think will definitely be the case) Do I need to somehow get a renewal on the I-94? or this date means nothing and I do not need to do anything?

Thanks a lot for your reply.

What do you mean by “nothing to be done you are AOS pending”? You have not explained what “Paroled until 11/23/06..." on his I-94 mean, have you?

When you have AOS pending, you are in a sort of twilight zone in that you may not have a valid non-immigrant status, but you can still remain in the country until a decision is made on the AOS.

When entering on AP they always used to put a date of 'indefinite' on the I-94, but then they changed to putting a date of one year from the time of entry. I believe this date will only have any significance if your AOS is denied.

The I-94 date has no meaning since your legal status is valid as long as your 485 is pending (or approved - obviously !)

So, you mean disregarding this date on his I-94 and do nothing before this date??? Are you sure? It is the original question to ask.

Yes - you can safely disregard that date.
