Hi guys!
I was under the impression that the sponsor must be either a citizen of the US or a PR. But today my father was at the US embassy and the official told him my sibling (who is neither, but is a legal non-immigrant resident of the US) can sponsor me. So of course I was totally confused (but thrilled!) and googled the sponsor forms. I saw on Form I-134 that on option E, it gives the option of a "lawfully admitted nonimmigrant" as the sponsor.
So I'm asking you all to confirm this for me before I start jumping for joy! . I'm wondering if the CO assumed my sibling was a PR and if that's the reason he suggested she sponsor, or if nonimmigrants can actually do the sponsoring.
I plan on emailing the embassy and asking for confirmation, but I'm too impatient.
Please help ASAP!! Many thanks!
