I have seen many posts here that state that at the interview time they were told that the background check is not complete.
I have interview in Dec 2008 and was wondering if this could happen to me.

What confuses me that why do they call you for an interview if they can't approve it. What is the point?

The majority of the time they no longer schedule interviews before the name check has cleared. However, once in a while a case gets prematurely scheduled before the name check has been completed. I'm guessing it could be due to procedural issue or human error.

I also have one more question. What is certified birth certificate. I am being asked to bring my children's certified birth certificates...My son is US born...We have a birth certificate...but what the hell is certified birth certificate...is it same as notorized

It could happen to you, but the good news is that by law they are required to decide your case within 120 days after the interview. If 120 days go by and they still won't, you can file a suit to compel them to make the decision.

I brought my children's brith certs as stated on the "yellow letter" but he said he didn';t need to see them. Obviously you'll bring them when they ask though! Certified is what you get from the records office in your town. They generally won't give you just a photocopy.

Sorry guys. I am getting confused by the certified Birth Cert.
I have my son's birth certificate. Am I supposed to take that to the interview or do I need to take a copy? Will they keep copy?
