Question about Infopass - None of the options fits me!

I want to pay a visit to the local Immigration office to find out what is going on with my case. My 485 was pending at USCIS since May 2005. I am now in San Jose area.

When I tried to make an Infopass appointment online, they ask me to choose from the following 4 options:

1) Order from Immigration Court ...

2) Case Processing Appointment - If you received a notice to go to your local office for further case processing.

3) EAD inquiry appointment - ...

4) Case Services follow-up appointment - If it has been over 45 days since you contacted NCSC and have not received a response to your inquiry. You must bring the Service Request ID Number related to your inquiry to the appointment.

I think none of these 4 options fits me. Is this another new evil thing USCIS does to deter people from bothering them?

What did you guys do ?

Thanks a lot!

Option 4. But first, you must open an SRC by calling the customer service number and wait for 45 days before you can get an infopass, as mentioned. And you must not have received a response for the service request that you opened.

I did call the USCIS customer center in Feb 2008 and initiated a service request. I got the response in 45 days, but it didn't provide me any useful information, other than saying 'it is being processed'. I don't know whether my name check is cleared or not.... People here say that one can get these information by talking to an IO at the local office. However, with the new limited service options one can choose, it seems that Infopass does not allow a person to just drop by and ask a question any more. Is there a way to work around?

Happened to me before. Do not check the first option at all because it will prompt you to what you are asking. Just select (You need information or other services ) from the first page and follow the instructions.
