Question about I-94 via canada

Hi,.
can i travel to canada and get a new I-94?

my I-94 expires in 35 days, I came here on a 5 year mutiple entry visa in December, i need to extend my stay for an Exam, Usmle step3 and i am unable to get a date for the test before september.

This trick is very well known to Immigtation officers at POE and they may deny you an entry to USA. Best thing is to apply for an extension.

but what are my chances of getting an extension within 35 days?

i have a very genuine reason and i plan to be honest with them : i am a foreign medical graduate and i came here for the USMLE. but when i signed up for the clinical skills test the most recent test date is avaliable in OCTOBER. all prior seats are taken already. and my I-94 expires in 35 days ( june 25th). I need to stay here till October.
( i am here on a multiple entry B2 visa )

Any reason that could be addressed by a better timed initial entry is not a genuine reason for extending one's B-2 status.
