question about H1b processing for a student

Thanks Mr.khanna for maintaining a very useful site.
I browsed through lots of pages and got some of my questions answered.

I am a student and got my OPT from May15th 2004 to May14 2005. I got a job, When should i start my H1 processing?

If i apply in april, i don't have a degree yet cuz iam graduating on May15th. Should i wait until i graduate to apply for H1?

When i apply can i apply now with h1 starting from (say) feb 2005 ( as i have OPT until may 2005)?

I have a 40 day break now until OPT start date(may 15th 2004). Will there be a problem if i want to visit india? Some friends said there will be problem for reentry as student as i am graduating.

++++++++++++++++You can apply only 6 months ahead (15 Nov).
