My mom applied for the renewal of her 10 year greencard in August 2008, got her fingerprinting done in the first week of September. She had also applied for a 2 year reentry permit which came through in 4 weeks time. Just a week before she had to leave the country , the biometrics sent a 2nd appointment for fingerprinting as the earlier ones were no good. She got that done and left the country. Now, in January 2009, we get this letter that the application cannot be processed as the fingerprints were not good. She needs to supply a police report to get the application moving ? My question is whether my mom needs to come back to get the police clearance ? She is quite old and unable to make frequent trips. Please advise?
