I have a question about Part 9, "Information about your children". Right now I am a student in Philadelphia. My wife lives in Boston finishing up her 1 yr fellowship which she will finish this June. Our son is in India with her parents.
After June my wife will find a job in Philly and we will bring our son and be back together. In this scenario what should I use for Current address of my son? Can I use my wife's address or my address, since he is in India only temporarily? If I use India address, since he does not live with me, I have to submit documents showing financial support according to the document checklist in M-476.

Any help is appreciated
Thanks,
Vijay

Always answer all questions truthfully and with fact to the best of your knowledge at the time of filling the forms.

Thanks for the reply. But I am confused as to what constitutes the "truth" in this case.
His temporary address in India or his permanent address in US at his parents. Although he is in India now, he will return to US in June.

How about write doan this on the address column
"Live with me (but is temporarily in India)"?

Dependent's current address is their permanent address, not the address while they are staying with your parents temporarily.

Thanks a lot for quick response. So, can I use either my wife's or my address? We both are living in apts in different cities which we will move out of in June/July time frame. For example, I currently live on campus and my son has never been to my apt. Can I still use this for his address?

Are you both supporting the child equally? Since it's your application, you would indicate your address, unless your wife is the one supporting child.

Yes we are supporting him equally. My concern was whether I should use the address that he has never been to and never even will be at. (Since we plan to move together to a larger place once we bring him back from India).

Bobsmyth, thanks a lot for your quick responses
He born at and stayed with us at our condo in Connecticut for 1 year. But my wife and I had to move to different cities due to career paths last June. So we rented out pur condo and stayed at my wife's Boston apt for 3 days before our India trip when we left him there with grand parents. After coming back from India I stayed in Boston for a month with my wife before moving to Philly for school. So in reality he did not spend significant time at my wife's apt either (Just 3 days).

His permanent address would still be the same as either parent eventhough he never spent any time where either of you are currently living. The main factor is that he will be permanently living with both of you once move into your new home.
You can clarify the answer to the IO at your interview since your child isn't permanently in India.
