Hello,
I did get my permanent 10 year resident card through marriage and I'm trying to figure out when I can apply for citizenship.
I researched and found out you can apply after 3 years and I was wondering 90 days before rule applies to this situation too ?

-So I got my green card on 01/13/2011 and I'm planning to apply for citizenship on 11/13/2013 Would this be okay ? Or Do i have to wait till 01/13/2014 to apply for citizenship ?

-If i do apply for citizenship, what do they ask on interview ? would I be interviewing by my self ?

-Last question! If I want to invite my parents after I becoem citizen, How long does it usually take to process that process ?

If anyone knows any of these information please help! :)

Thank you and have a great day !!

- Yeah you can apply the 90 days rule in ur case given that u had stayed in the US and is still together with ur husband but it could be risky though; just wait till next year just to make sure ur application won't be rejected.

-They will ask you about ur application, US History (a booklet will be given when u go to ur fingerprinting sched), read and write in English. And u will be interviewed alone (ur husband can wait at the waiting area).

- Consular processing for your parents' GCs usually takes about 6-12 months. U said invite- meaning they will only come here to visit? Well, they gonna do that themselves- getting a tourist visa at the nearest US embassy.

Go to the US Citizenship forum for more info!

You may prepare for your citizenship interview by making use of the resources and study materials offered by the USCIS. You may also attend naturalization workshops hosted across by the USCIS. You need to learn about the US history and politics to pass the civics test. On the day of your naturalization interview, you will have to carry with you certain documentation and the interview appointment letter that was sent to you by the USCIS.

If you need to sponsor your parents, you will require to File Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative. You can see the instructions to File the Form.

Hello,

If I renounce my country of birth citizenship while in US, will I be eligible for adjustment of status to permanent resident?
