Hi All,

I am a us citizen filing a green card for my wife who is Canadian. I have the following questions related to 864

1) Question 2 asks me for an alien registration number. I read on this forum that the Alien registration number is the Axxxxxx number on my naturalization certificate. Can someone please confirm this.

2) The household size should be 2 right, if I am filing for my wife. The reason I ask is that it says enter 1 if you are married, I left it as blank as that would make the household size 3. So 2 is correct? please confirm.

Regarding 485

Part 3 asks- Were you inspected by an immigration officer- What is the non immigration visa number. She is here on a TN visa and has an I94. Should I answer yes and enter the I94 number as the non immigration visa number?

Thanks a lot for looking at this

1) You're going to have to be more specific than that. There are many "Parts" to the I-864 now, and each of them have questions numbered the same way. It only asks for your A number if you are a permanent resident, which you are not. Perhaps you are looking at a question where they are asking for your wife's A number.

2) 2 is correct. You missed the parts where it says "DO NOT COUNT ANYONE TWICE" and "Persons NOT sponsored in this affidavit:"

Regarding 485

Yes, she was inspected unless she jumped the border. The visa number is in red letters and numbers on the visa.

1-Thanks a lot for the reply. In the 864 part 4 question 11 asks if I am citizen, permanent resident etc. I read it again and I wouldn't need to enter my Alien registration number as that would apply If I only checked the box of I am a lawful permanent citizen.

But what about form G325 on the top right of the form it asks for a file number Axxxxxxx- I thought this would be the number found on my naturalization certificate right? or should I leave it blank?

485- LOL! I don't think she jumped the border- The only visa she has is the I-94, so I am guessing I need to enter this number?

Thank you so much for replying

It asks for the A number on the I-485 section 3 question B as well under spouse information. Should I enter my A number there? even though I am a citizen?

I thought you said she entered on a TN visa? Did she enter using a visa (a sheet taking up a whole page of her passport with her picture and other stuff)? If she entered with no visa because Canadians are allowed to enter without visa, then she could write "none, Canadian visitor" or something.

You could enter it. Or you could say N/A. I don't think it really matters. Same with the G-325A.
