Query regarding USA and Canadian visitor visa from India

Hi,

I am staying in canada (PR card holder) and my brother-in laws staying in USA(H1B visa). Now, he wants to call his parents in USA on visitor visa and I want to call them in Canada also. Suppose, his parents will get visitor visa for both USA and Canada. My question is that if his parents are staying in USA for 5 months(before I-94 expires) and afterwards they will visit canada and stay there for another 6 months(what ever time in canadian visa), Is it possible?

They don't want to go back to USA. Can we request return ticket from Canada to India?(they will buy ticket from India to USA-- and they will travel to canada by car and return to India from canada) Is it possible and legal?

Your brother-in-law's parents can buy a ticket the way you have suggested. They can also do the US-Canada leg by plane if the want.
Mighty nice of you to host your brother-in-laws folks for 6 months!!!
