Qn regarding FP Validity

Two questions, my friends..

(1) How long are FingerPrints valid ? I recall reading somewhere that it's 15 months from the FP date. Can someone please confirm or correct my understanding?

(2) When Fingerprints expires and second Fingerprinting performed, does it mean that all the three elements of security check, namely (a) IBIS name check (b) FBI Fingerprint check and (c) FBI name check have to be performed AGAIN?

That's correct.

The validity of the IBIS check is much shorter than fingerprints; it is between 45-90 days IIRC. They typically don't do that until they're about to approve.

Our Finger printing was done on Mar 1, 2005. 15 Months will be over on Jun 1, 2006. We are travelling mid-Jul to home country.

- Can we request 2nd FP on our own?

- What if we receive the FP Notice and we are not home to receive the notice for several weeks?
