finally.

7/25/08. BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT....they are sending me to Topeka instead of Kansas City.
So instead of driving 10 mins, I will be driving 90 minutes...
But it is ok...who cares...I am excited..

I had mine in Topeka. It was really nice. I actually attended the very first Oath Ceremony held in Topeka and only 7 were to be held after mine in 2008. For me it was good though. I live more than 2 hours away from KC. Only aprox. 45 Min from Topeka so it helped me. Are you residing in KS or MO ?

Enjoy the moment... congrats!

Thank you all..thank you...
I am excited it is just the drive and early timing..
I had friends who wanted to come to KC Court to attend. It will be hard for them to drive to Topeka..

Congrats ProudPal - despite the long distance and early time - I am sure you will be deeply moved the moment you get that certificate in your hands and the realization that you are a USC hits you. :-)

If you can, go the night before and stay in a hotel with wife and kids. I know you have an infant, but 90 minutes is a long distance to drive early in the morning.

My biggest frustration is not having my friends. They all were ready to come to the KC ceremony. But it will be so hard for them to drive to Topeka so early.
But, I am happy. I would drive to St Louis or even Wichita if needed lol..
I just want this over with..

Thank Vorpal:)

LolaLi : not a bad idea actually. I may do that instead of having to wake the kids up so early to drive to the CAPITAL:)

Haha, I will be the winner and you are the loser. :D
I will share my Oath experience with you:p

Comgrats. man this is awesome and stop complaining otherwise they may take it away from you. I just want to be done.

Sucks that I am not citizen for 4th of July, so I guess I have to celebrate my GreenCard day.

Congrats, ProudPal! Just about 3 more weeks and you're all done!

Vorpal, I know what you hate and that is the time between the Notice of Action date and the actual interview date. It sucks and there is nothing we can do about it. I just looked at your dates and I felt dizzy too.
Toast:
For the day that at least our kids don't have to deal with this crap, for the day there are no borders and everybody love eachother...

Cheers

To quote from a post I made yesterday, I feel truly blessed that I finally received my IL, especially in light of all the BS going on at the NYC DO. I'm sure you've read all about 2008 applications receiving 3-4 month processing in NYC, while many summer 07 backloggers are still waiting. It's absolutely disgusting that the DO that was the fastest about a year ago has not slowed down to Charlotte/LA/Miami speeds. Oh well, at least it's not as bad as LA/DC/Philly. I'm just happy that there's finally a light at the end of my naturalization tunnel. If you want to feel really dizzy, take a look at Bobsmyth's timeline, or any DC applicant.

I totally second your toast, although world peace without borders is a rather utopian idea. ;)

We are human and we have always wished for something different. This is our natur. :D
