Which document you guys think is best to show as proof of non-US citizen.
I need to buy Amtrak pass and the condition is you should be non-US citizen. Any legal document proving that is good like passport with valid visa,Green card, HIB etc . Nothing about asylee though. This is what they send me when i asked:
*** THESE PASSES ARE VALID WITH ALL TEMPORARY VISAS & RESIDENT ALIEN ***

*** CARDS ('GREEN CARD') WHEN PRESENTED WITH A VALID PASSPORT ISSUED ***

*** OUTSIDE THE U.S. AND CANADA. ALSO GOOD WITH ONLY A VALID FOREIGN ***

*** PASSPORT WHEN VISA IS NOT REQUIRED FOR VISITORS FROM THAT COUNTRY ***

So, which single do you guys think will satisfy amtrak people. Note that my passport is not eligible as it is expired and they are not INS(means not that legal)

I went to amtraks website..It says this to buy a pass

To Purchase a USA Rail Pass: A valid passport from a nation other than the United States or Canada, or evidence of residence in a US territory or possession, is required to purchase a USA Rail Pass.

A valid passport or evidence of residence in US Territory...

So if you show your asylee grant letter and a printout of what asylee is...plus a utility bill maybe?

Come man, do you think person sitting at the station is a legal INS person. You throw him these documents and he would be scratching his head . I think he would ask me to bring something from the same list as i posted above . So, i need to show more logical document.

How much are you saving anyway???? Why do you even bother? Is there more important thing to do for you???
