I know I might flames for this...but here is my thout....

Most of the people come to this forum to check updates ask questions ...cry about INS inefficiency....and what not....mostly people dont want to have another headache of joining campaigns..file lawsuits..."make a difference to this INS processing" kinda of thing...so thats why you see lots of members of this forum but very few participating in the campaign....

All the services to this forum and participation is completely on voluntary basis and there should not be a big banner to convience people to join what they dont want to.....keep it nice a simple....:) thats all...

if there are backlogs they will be removed sometimes or the other.....it has happened in past and it did got cleared ...as far as i know there were very few campaigning and other things....which in my opinion makes no diffrence to USCIS

I have to agree with mygcwaiter.

Not to diminish the excellent work of Kasmir, frankly I don't know where you get your energy - can you lend me some?

I think you do an excellent job and no doubt you are frustrated by the lack of participation by people, I too have been there as well.

But I too will add my thoughts (at the risk of being flamed). Your approach should be a little different.

Before Kashmir there was PCee and before PCee there was CIBA (yes that's right CIBA, I know most of you have never heard that name before, but how many old timers are still here that remember CIBA???)

All three of these individuals have donated extensive amounts of their time to help the board because of their genuine interest as well as their technical ability.

The difference I think is that CIBA and PCee tirelessly contributed, but they didn't hold the board ransom for those that didn't contribute. Kashmir, I believe you are passionate in what you are doing and you are doing excellent work, but you try incentivize people to participate but the result is it comes off like coercian (sp). It actually drives people away. I myself used to be actively involved in the board but haven't participated much in the last 6 months. Now before anyone jumps down my throat, I've mailed and faxed all senators, representatives and even the president and have received messages back.

I think you started out well doing the statuses and it was very informative for the board and everyone divided up your script and ran them and gave you back the numbers. But I think somewhere in your passion you got frustrated with peoples empathy and that's where the change happened.

If you look at PCee, he tirelessly helped anyone, answering all questions with a cheerful attitude - what a saint. I know I certainly wouldn't have, and I certainly wouldn't have had your patience either.

But when PCee finally got his GC, I think there was something like 10 pages of congratulatory emails from people here. I hope you get the same.

My suggestion to you is to not get bitter or resentful, but keep up the fantastic work you are doing and just realize people are people and your reward may never result in thankyous from all the 485 waiters that come after you but benefit from all your hard work.

Hi Kashmir, also please stop wasting your time on scanning for others. You spend so much of your time and resources on scanning. Atleast, you can get to spend more time with your family than doing a free service !!
Lots of people are interested ONLY in your scans than anything else and they want it free!! People never found the forum bad, when asking to scan their series and when lots of threads were filled with your scan results and the reports and analysis that goes with each and every scan of yours. I sincerely hope you stop scanning!!

And you know what keeping up the "good work" means, right ? Scan for free.

Also, please post the yahoo groups that you guys already created for people who are interested in campaigns.
Thanks for your advices and comments.

system. This new system has the added advantage of sending
you alerts when a case is touched which Project kashmir and
Project Anaconda both lack.

Given the new system one can create multiple accounts with
a simple program and add the Project Anaconda 485 numbers
to these accounts. I could add atleast 25 numbers to one account
and I am sure I can add more. Somebody needs to find out how
much the limit is. If the limit is lets say 1000 numbers then all we
need to do is create 36 accounts.

Then we process the daily alerts for a much better report.

Now the advantage of this project is that we don't need any
more proxies. We can use USCIS resources to do the job and
we can accurately tell which cases were touched. Sweet huh?

Now this may involve dealing with mail systems and mail but
thats my speciality. Mail. I can write such a automated program
which creates these accounts and adds the wac numbers in them.
And then write another mail to process mails coming to these
accounts.

Now thats what you call ingenuity. Right brother?

Some time back kashmir decided to write a script which divides
the work between number of people of scanning various
series.

Such a tool was very hard to do because it would be hard to
protect all 485 numbers. But if we show some faith then we
can use USCIS resources to do just that.

Here is what this project will require you to do.

1. Pick a wac 02/03 series that nobody has picked.
2. Run Project Kashmir Scan to find the valid 485 numbers in the
series.
3. Run a simple program that will add these numbers to your
account.
4. Run a program every day to process the received email
and file a report on this site.

What do people say to an idea like that?
Do you join jokerpoker_us's new project ?

CSC is far behind from other service centers !?

I-485 processing dates of 4/8/2004 are:
VSC 2/15/2002
CSC 1/9/2002
NSC 09/26/2001
TSC 08/21/2001

However, according to:
http://immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=758585#post758585
02-124 (ND early March 2002) approval rates are:
NSC 58%
VSC 24%
TSC 18%
CSC 3%

I strongly believe that the CSC is the slowest among four service centers.

The CSC is currently approving DEC 2001 and JAN 2002 cases, and issueing RFE mainly to JAN 2002 cases.
Also, the CSC is adjudicating early WAC-03 cases and working on recently filed WAC-04 cases.

If this trend would continue, the CSC will be ignoring FEB 2002 thru JUL 2002 cases for a couple of months or more.
But of course, it's just my guess.
Good luck.

my summary of fax/e-mail campaigns

We have been doging dozens of fax/e-mail camaigns for last several months.

1) USCIS, CSC, or Don Neufeld
They totally ignore our letters.

2) DHS Ombudsman
unknown

3) Congressperson or Senators
They usually response only to residents in their district, however, they come to aware of ImmigrationPortal.Com.
An immigration case worker at the district office is sometimes very useful for an individual case.
We need to contact to the staff at Washington D.C. office about policy or legislation on immigration.

4) Media
If we can provide a strong story, it would have an impact.

5) Arnold Schwarzenegger
maybe useless

In conclusion, it's the most effective contacting Congressional member's Washington D.C. offices.

ImmigrationPortal.ORG

It must be the most effective contacting Congressional member's Washington D.C. office.

I still believe that fax campaign to Congressional office is effective if a lot of people participate and if some of us call to Washington D.C. office constantly to follow up.

However, the number of participants is too small to give the impact to them.
Also, it's very diffcult and needs a lot of time and efforts to talk directly with a staff at Washington D.C. office.
Especially in California, we have some hardships because Washington D.C. is far from California and because Democrats is too strong in California.

In step forward, I believe we must have a dedicated person in Washington D.C. to contact Congressional members directly in professional way.
It had been impossible, but now we have ImmigrationPortal.ORG.
This is why I have been asking your donation to ImmigrationPortal.ORG recently.

Project Kashmir

I'm very pleased and proud that many members at CSC I-485 forum have been continuously participating in various campaings for the community.
Even though it might be not so effective nor enough, I believe we get some results from the campaigns.

I know that some people are unwilling to join campaigns just for reports of Project Kashmir.
They complain about campaign's ineffectiveness or don't want to use their time for such a campaign.

Regarding Project Kashmir, I have no obligation to post its reports at the forum at all.
I can get data by myself without anyone's help and just for myself.
However, I understand most of I-485 applicants want to see such data.
Also, I believe providing data helps the community to see what happens at the CSC.

I am not a volunteer at ImmigrationPortal.Com.
I am just a member and come to the forum to give and take to/from each other like most of you.
My focus at the forum is not to exchange information but to do something for the community to improve the current broken immigration system.
So, if you get some benefit from Project Kashmir, I'd like some contribution from you to the community such as campaign participation.

Now, as I summarized above, I have cancelled all my campaigns and shifted my focus to ImmigrationPortal.ORG.
So, you don't need to worry about annoying campaigns any more.
Instead of that, you can make a donation to ImmigrationPortal.ORG to contribute for the community.

Why you always forget WAC-02-169 Series?
Please scan for that as well.
Thanks in Advance,
I have never forgot WAC-02-169.
The CSC has just ignored FEB 2002 thru JUL 2002 cases including WAC-02-169.
That's it.
It's not Project Kashmir's fault but the CSC's discrination to old cases that you can not see anything on WAC-02-169.
I will release the full report once the first goal of donation meets, then you can see more detail.

Also, you can visit Project Anaconda thread for WAC-02.

New feature was implemented at Project Kashmir.
You can see a sample report at:

However, it requires a lot of my resources,
so I will make the detail reports and post them only in response of ImmigrationPortal.ORG contributor's request this weekend.

No, I can't.
However, I plan to provide CSV file(s) once we have enough contributions at ImmigrationPortal.ORG,
then you can manipulate it with spreadsheet or somebody will create more useful tables and graphs.
