Project Kashmir #2 : WAC I485 Case Status

WAC 02 series

Hi Kashmir:

I noticed that you have not been scanning WAC02 series. They are a lot of us who belong to 02 series are a lot more anxious to know the processing status. Would it be possible for you to scan that as well?

I was looking through the scan data and was just wondering why there was none for wac-03-019-xxxxx cases........... is it because they were never scanned?
I'm guessing the scanning is quite a task just briefly reading through the archives.
Would it be too much to ask for to request for wac-03-019 data ?
Thanks
Project Kashmir is just summarizing every one's efforts.
You can scan WAC-03-019 series by yourself.
If you would send the result to the project, it would be incorporated to the list for regular scan.
Again, Project Kashmir can not respond any request to scan specific date.

WAC-02 series have been scanned regularly.
Due to a couple of reasons, I stopped just posting the result of scan.

Kashmir,
Can you please post the data at your convienience? We are very anxious to see the data

Thanks for your interest about Project Kashmir, however ...

> Due to a couple of reasons, I stopped just posting the result of scan.

One of reasons is:
the weekly report of Project Kashmir had been misleading people here in this forum.
We had been seeing 60-80 approvals every week in average.
Many people seem only to try seeing that the CSC is approving some cases, but not to understand that such a number, which is almost ZERO as compared to the huge backlog, does not mean anything.

As a matter of fact, participants of Project Ocean and its campaigns are very few.
We should see (at least) 50 activities every week.

Oh Boy .... another blackmail tactic ..... :D :D

Hi Kashmir:

I totally agree with you. The current pace of processing is not gonna cut it. What you could do is add a note at the end of your report saying "This reports clearly begs the need of some action on our part".

Also, posting the report is going to bring more traffic to the forum which will help drive Project Ocean and others..

just my 2 cents

Thanks for your advice, however, I came to know that it does not work at all.
Honestly speaking, I wanted to believe that more people would participate in taking an action for *OUR* petition,
but I have decided to believe those who is actually taking an action for our petition goals.

Hey
I am one of those who took action and participated in project ocean. I travel a lot so its difficult me to accompany you guys on the meetings but I faxed the petitions to all three and my intention is to help the project.

I know everything and I never forget your cooperation.

But the Project Ocean is not one-time fax campaign.
We have to continue our activities until we would achieve our goal.
For instance, I believe at least ten people should fax to Subcommittee on Immigration.

I have no obligation to anybody in this forum for Project Kashmir.
Here are two messages posted on 10/12/2003.

The CSC seems to have started processing I-485 on 10/7/2003.
You can see some cases approved or touched recently,
however, the number is still very small and far from satisfactory level.
Don't forget that it would take 4-5 years to clear only WAC-02 cases if this slow pace would continue.

If such a result of the Project Kashmir would satisfy many people and if the Project Ocean "Send the Petition" Campaign would go slow down,
this project might be cancelled any time.

Hi Everyone:

Though there has been a little pickup in speed in 485 processing, it is far from what is required. As Kashmir said, we should not loose momemtum on the Project Ocean for several reasons.

- Immigrants are never cared for by the politicians.
- The 485 processing is still too slow to clean up the backlogs.
- 485 processing can be stopped again since it is never a higher priority, so dont count on it.
- even with485 approved, you are still not a citizen, so its important that we make sure that we are counted too by these power hungry politicians.
Thanks for your endorsement to Project Ocean, vg0405.

I may have to consider how to distribute the report of Project Kashmir...

but it become the requirement now.

Again, I have not had any obligation to open the data to this forum.
I will provide the data only to those who will continue particiating in activities to achieve OUR petition goals.

I used to check Project Kashmir sometimes, but I'm from VSC so I used to follow VSC case status co-ordinated by Sbctsublc also. Lately I stopped looking into these reports since we don't see many approvals and if they continue at this pace most of us have to wait for 8 to 10 years to get GC.

I think everyone has to act immediately and join all the campaigns started here to address backlog and naturalization issue. It's our problem.

Most of the immigration laws are passed in election year, just look back into American History, you'll understand. AC21 lobby had group of people like us, I don't think anyof us might be here if not for AC21 since it theoretically removed per country limit for GC.

I was quite surprised at the support in this forum for Project Ocean. Whining in this forum won't resolve our problems. Just remember we have to fight for our own problems, no one will fight for us. I think we all should learn lesson from illegal immigrants unity to fight for their cause. There is nothing called free ride.

Hey Kashmir:

I think you are getting a little emotional about the whole issue.
Whether you post the reports or not, its your choice. It was a nice gesture on your part to do that. What I said was just an opinion and a humble request.
I think its important for you to understand that not everybody is as politically savvy as you are. Its not as easy to mobilize so many people as you think. What you have started is a good leadership but it will take time for it to gain momentum. Its been little over a month you started the campaign and you expect all the people to make the efforts like you are some other guys.
That is a little too optimistic. If I were you I would not get so touchy about this.
Saying that only people who fax petitions are going to see the report is not a good way to lead people.

Hi, vg0405,
I'd appreciate your advice.
I think you're right, however ...

First of all, I don't intend to become a leader.
I am just one of EB I-485 applicants suffering from the current huge backlog at the CSC like you guys.
Frankly speaking, I started the Project Ocean for myself at the beginning,
but later, I asked to people in this forum to participate in activities such as faxing the petition to Congressional offices
because, once one of the petition's goals would be achieved, it would benefit not only me but also all EB I-485 applicants.
Of course, I understand it is very difficult.
But I believe it is worth to try.
Even if it would fail, we have nothing to lose
because most of us have to give up our green cards if this slow pace would continue.

For the Project Kashmir, the report is not worth for me to take a couple of hours every weekend now.
For the last seven months, the CSC has approved only about 350 cases per month, and this number is quite stable.
With this slow pace, the processing date would proceed one month once every 6-8 months.
When the Project Kashmir was started in April, it was 11/16/2001, and nothing has changed since that time.
Even if we would lose the Project Kashmir, nothing would change.
This is another reason why I have moved my focus to the Project Ocean.

Anyway, I have already decided.
My goal is to achieve one of the petition requests within a year,
and again, once it would be achieved, it would benefit everyone in this forum.
