Processing dates

 USCIS web site states "if you filed your case 30 days or more before the date shown under the heading 'Processing cases with receipt date of' and you have not received a request for evidence, a decision or another notice within the last 30 days, please call our National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283"

Well, the latest processing dates posted for asylum based I-485 shows March 30, 2000. As my receipt date is Feb 14, 2000 I called the National Customer Service Center and the lady told me that she will forward a request for status case info to USCIS officer.

Today I received a useless leter from USCIS informing me that "due to a backlog ..." the processing has been extended and enclosed was an infamous estimate sheet showing that my case will 'probably' be resolved between October 1, 2004 and September 30, 2005. So, nothing specific about my case even though the processing date is more then 30 days after my RD, just generic BS. This means that even if I don't get anything from them until September 30, 2005 if I inquire about my status they will keep sending me this generic BS instead of actually checking on my case status.

I'm so pissed off right now, I can't wait to have this nightmare be over and have nothing to do with them any more. I'll go bang my head against the wall for a while just to vent out a litle bit.

I am just few days after the 11-16-99, almost 5 yrs have passed, nothing so far, I am also going nuts, can't take this anymore. And now I have to wait another 9 months for plastic, I don't think they are doing anything over there.
I check the Michael Khosla law website today, which says after Oct 26, they will not accept white card I-151 for travel. this is turning into a nightmare.

Looks like we contacted CIS regarding case status the same day. My filing date for I-485 is 02/15/2000, the next day after yours. And I received the same "answer" as you did, and I'm so angry again. How many months we have to wait now, even the processing date is current?

Talking about frustrations and major depression. At least you guys have an idea something will be done within the next year. Some of us are in a worse shape. Was on the backlog awaiting a hearing for 8+ years and just got approved a year ago. Been here for over 10yrs and according to their schedule will wait for another 15yrs to get the card. And have not seen family for over 13years. Oh buoy, will not bang my head to the wall, but needs to pop another Prozac right now, before my brains start to spinning.
