Procedure for Application for TN via mail

Dear friends,

I recently got a TN with a small company in Florida. It looks like I could have the possibility of another more interesting offer with a larger company in Texas. If everything works fine. I would like to apply for a second TN by mail, I don't know the procedure and if if that would be the best way to proceed to change my present TN. Also the time framing for that and the chances it will be approved. I read that some people in the forum have applied for TN by mail but I really don't know the procedure and form I need to fill out and also address to send the documents.

Form I-129 from USCIS website. It costs about $1300 to get it done quickly, so you might just prefer to go to a border (mexican border is fine) and pay $60. Otherwise it takes 12-16 weeks (and $300) to get I-129 approval.

Wait a second. He can't use an I-129 can he? I think he said his new job was with a 'much larger company in Texas'. Isn't an I-129 just used for a renewal of an existing TN with the same job and company? This sounds like a new TN to me.

And to get that, he would have to go back to a POE, no?

I-129 can be used for a new TN. All that is required is a current valid status; he already has TN, but could have any other valid status including undocumented B2.

The notion that one MUST get a new TN (or a first TN) at the border is simply false.
