I am a CANADIAN CITIZEN ready to file I-485 Adjustment of Status under EB(2) category. Would I use dates under Worldwide to check my Priority Date or would I use dates for India (As I was born in India).

This is very confusing….CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP?????

THANKS!

Use your place of birth (India). Read the I-485 form, no Q regarding your citizenship now, but "City/Town/Village of Birth", and "country of birth"

You will be considered under ALL CHARGEABILITY.... not under INDIA only if you are CANADIAN Citizen on the record for GC process....

Don't give misleading information... as stated in the VISA bulletin and I-485 application ... its your country of birth not your current citizenship.

I did it..... ME MY SELF......I am not telling any story.....

At the port of entry USCIS Officer always asks COUNTRY of BIRTH but when you hand them Canadian Passport every thing changes.... It happened to me on Niagra Falls US Border.... General Rule is your country of birth is country of citizenship that why they say that.... DV lottery chargebility stats country of birth... but if you are indian born in QATAR do you think you will qualify to apply...NO SIR you wont be...because I have been there.... its tricky.

As this forum is to help other with your experiences, I am sharing mine not misleading any one.....

People have trouble in renewing D.L.... I went to DMV gave them my DL and asked for renewal...No one asked me for any USCIS / i-90 or any I-129 and they renewed it for 6 years... Happened to me....not misleading.....

Thanks,

Not sure what you're getting at but the question is when you apply for I-485/AOS, one of the requirements is your birth certificate...they'll see ur country of birth and use that if ur eligible to apply... am sure some people may fall thru the cracks...but i wont risk that.
