Priority date VS Citizenship

I (permanent resident) got married with student (F-1) on Jan. of 2007. I-130 is apporved and priority date is March 22, 2007. Current priority date is Jan. 2008. It means priority date for my wife is current. At the same time, I have applied for citizenship too. I was wondering if I should wait for my citizenship to get approved to apply for my wife's I-485 or I should apply right-a-way on the basis of current priority date (permanent resident's wife). Please advice me ASAP.
Thank you for your help in advance.

both are exactly the same in the sense of not waiting for an immigrant visa number to become available. You may go ahead and apply.

Okalian, really appreciated for your quick response. I have few doubts. If I apply for my wife's I-485 now on the basis of my PR status, she won't be able to apply for citizenship within 3 years, right? Once I become citizen, can I update her status as US citizen's spouse so that she can receive benefits as a citizen's wife? Anyway, short and sweet, is there any pros and cons applying for I-485 now (as a PR's spouse) or within 3-4 months (as a citizen's spouse)?
Thank you.

If she is not in the US legal status, she will have to wait until you become a USC in order for her to be eligible to file the I-485.

If she recently entered the US with an F-1 (within the past 90 days), and her I-485 is filed when you are an LPR, she won't benefit from the leniency regarding immigrant intent that is given to spouses of citizens.
