Priority date question...

Do the INS workers start checking on your application when your application priority date is current or before, as soon as they get your paperwork? I'am asking because I see some posters signatures, on which they sent their package like in October, and by November, USCIS is requesting evidence from them. Like they're working on their case or something. So my questions is, Does INS stark working on your paperwork as soon as they get it? if that's the case, what is the point of a priority date?

Unless PD is current, one can not file I485. Whether application is reviewed or not has nothing to do with PD unless it's the case cutoff date suddenly went back.

Sorry I messed up, I meant receipt date. Do they work on your paperwork until your receipt date goes current, or they work on it from when they receive the package. Thanks. :) and sorry for the misunderstadin. :(

How it works is like this. They have a big pile of forms and they process them in somewhat the order they arrive it. Sometimes processing goes quickly and sometimes it goes slowly. Probably due to the conjuction of the Moon with Uranus or something, certainly there can be no logical understanding of how things are processed.

Mainly, you should not try to overthink things and just accept it. You're still early in your process, don't get disheartened yet.
