Priority Date for parents - 28 April 2004.

Here is the information:

Preference Category - IR5 - Parent of US Citizen
Priority Date - 28 Apr, 2004
Foreign State Chargeability - India.

I got the letter saying that the NVC has processed my case and has forwarded my file to the Mumbai Consulate. Can anyone tell me when we can expect to hear from the consulate? I tried to check up on the priority date, however could not understand it.

Priority Dates are meaningless for Immediate Relatives. If NVC has finished with the case and forwarded to the consulate, you should be hearing something soon.

Does NVC handle Packet 3/4 for Indians, or is that all done by the consulates?

LucyMO, actually I had taken my time sending in the paperwork, so it took so long...the good thing is after I would send each form, we would hear back almost in a month if not sooner.
