Hello,

I got divorced and remarried. N-400 form asks for prior spouse's immigration status. I am not in touch with my ex-spouse. Do I need to state immigration status of ex-spouse at the time of divorce?

Thanks.

----------------------------Yes. if at the time of marriage with ex-spouse.
Thanks.

For PART 3 G: you will check Married
For Part 8 A: you will write 2
For part 8 C: you will write if present spouse is US Citizen or not
For Part 8 E: you will tick if present spouse is LAWFUL PERMANENT RESIDENT if not tick OTHER
F2: you will write her US status at the time of marriage.
** You can also attach a Sheet and can explain answer for F2. Write your Name, A # at top of the sheet and sign the sheet.

****You also need to send the copy of divorce papers.

I think the intent is that you or your current spouse or your ex spouse is not involved in Marriage for Green card scheme. So as long as you specify her status at the time of divorce and it looks like no one benefited from no one based on the marriage so I think you should be fine.
