Post 9/11 travel on AP.

Hi guys
I have never been out of status ever and am planning to travel to India on AP. I have my EAD and my H-1 has expired. I'm hearing conflicting views on whether it is perfectly safe to travel on AP given the changes with INS laws and POE security measures after 9/11. People in general are saying "dont" but my lawyer says it is just fine.

Has any one out there had any bad experiences travelling on AP ? Has anyone been denied re-entry ? How are the POE authorities at Washington_Dulles Airport ? Do Chennai airport authorities understand what the AP stands for ? I am spending a lot of sleepless nights due to this ?

Any help on this will be greatly appreciated ?

Thanks in advance.

who these rumor monger people are??

I personally know somebody who travelled thru the two airports u mentioned 2 months ago , using AP.
AP is still safe to travel. You will be asked to undergo secondary inspection (i.e. taken to a room before given a stamp). This is standard practice for AP. Make sure that the spelling of names, the A# and the photo matches you.

Thanks a lot Jaxen. You've helped to reassure me.
