Possible problem with address

Hi All,

We are eligible to apply for Citizenship next month. We recived our GC in May 2004. But before that let me explain a situation we have gotten and see if it will cause any prob.

One of our friend moved back to India last year. Before going he gave our address for mail forwarding. At some places like INS, wells Fargo he gave our address as his current address. Last Nov, sheriff came to our house looking for him. They searched our home. Upon asking they said they are looking for him for a possible crime he committed against his own family and that his family(wife and kids) is still here. We told he has just given our address and we are sure he is in India.
After this incident we asked our friend to remove our address and is still in the process. We receive 1 or 2 mails in his name.

Do you see any issues with this.

I assume that your friend has a green card - you never mention this in your post. Please clarify. If this is the case, then the only potential problem I see is USCIS asking you why you willingly allowed him to provide his address at your house if you knew that he was not residing there. If you were not aware that he gave USCIS his address, then this is another story.

Yes he has GC and had applied for re-entry permit. Gave our address for this sake.
He is also expecting some income related letters so his old companies have our address.
 
Does USCIS having address is the only problem?
Will they check things like why sheriff was looking for him at our address etc. I don't think he has submitted AR11 form, I will check.
 
A police search for someone who used your address would not show up on your name check unless you were charged with a crime like aiding and abedding a criminal.
