Pls advice..Can we travel on Current AP while...

:confused: Hello friends,
Can we travel on the current AP which is valid for 90 days. I have applied for AP and EAD renewal. Does it stop or affect the process if I travel while renewal is still processing? At present I have 60 days of validity more.

Please advice or share if similar exp.

Yes you can travel on valid AP while the renewal is pending or even the new one issued while you are abroad. The same for EAD, you can work with valid EAD while the renewal is pending or even the new EAD was issued and you can give the new EAD to the employer after you receive it any time later.

Yes. You can. But make sure that you come back within the expiry of your current AP
 
Thank you MMED and Luckyone2000 from the response I have small confusion.
"Yes you can travel on valid AP while the renewal is pending or even the new one issued while you are abroad- mmed" and "Yes. You can. But make sure that you come back within the expiry of your current AP - luckyonee2000" .

My understanding as per mmed we can get the renewal approval while I am abroad and can travel back with new one (if current is expired) and as per luckyone we can get the new approval while abroad but have to come back to US while the current is still valid and not with the new approval.

Please advice which one would be more appropriate? Thanks a lot again for your time.

1- If you suspect approval of your submitted AP application, avail and travel "WITHIN" the validity of your existing valid AP.
2- If you get your approval that falling between the validity of your existing AP, "No Problem"
3- If you get approval while abroad after expiration of your existing AP and/or did get anything other than approval, then I would take it as "Serious Situation, Risk"
4- If you have any other valid visa, "No Problem"
5- If your I485 gets approved, 'No Problem"
Be advised, consultaion with a good attonery is a good choice.
 
I agree with assur.

What I heard was that you will need to be in the states while your AP is approved to use it to return back to the states. That's why they strictly say that AP can not be mailed outside of the country to use it for the purpose of returning back. I may be wrong.

You should consult with a qualified attorney before you make your travel plans
