All the best to the GC applicants out there...don't give up! still need to enjoy life while waiting for the GC.

I-485 AD: approved 9/26/2006 (No RFEs)

Thanks!

485 is approved / What next?

Hi Guys,

PD - Oct2001 (NY labor)
EB2

485 filed on March-2006. Got my FP done last month.

I see the following message now in my case.

"Application Type: I485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status.

Current Status: On October 20, 2006, after approving your application, we ordered you a new card.

Your card will be mailed to you as soon as it is ready"

I see the following message saying my approval notice was mailed today.

Questions i have - What am i supposed to get from INS now? is it approval notice or Green card etc? Will it be sent to my address or my attorney address? Any one has insights...Will i have to go any passport stamping to local INS office?

Congratulation's

Congratulation's kvskriths,

You are out of this mess now,U will see 2-3 more LUDs on ur case.

And don't worry U will get apporval notice And Green card at ur home address.

You don't need to get PP stamping.

So Cheer Up have fun ,Enjoy ur green with ur loved ones. :)

No, Approval notice came alone in IRS printed envlope.

And Green card will come in normal mail inside a nomal looking envlope.

Hope it will help U.

It depends how faster the things are,in my case U can see they were pretty faster than I thought.

Read my signature.

One question guys

My priority date is Jan 08 2003 and I have filed in EB2 category, Can I apply for 485 now.

December visa Bulletin gives cutoff date as JAN 08 2003 for EB2, Can I apply for 485 now?

Does the cutoff date include Jan08 2003 or only till Jan 07 2003?

I would really appreciate if expert on this board can advise.

Thanks,
Srini

Help - require your advise

Anyone who can answer my question wouldn't be in the 140 thread and so the out-of track question. I'm sorry.

I'm at the I140 stage and have an RFE on my educational qualification. My LC says "Bachelors or equivalent" in "Commerce or Engineering" and thr 140 RFE is the usual 3year not equal to 4 year US degree.

My lawyer got another evaluation that didn't help. So the approach is:
to argue that the AEC reflects BS or equivalent and that "equivalent" refers to any combination of coursework that equates to a BS degree. It will be up to CIS to determine if this is acceptable, but I think we are in a good position to make that argument since it does not say "equivalent degree", just "equivalent".

Is there anyone who can confirm this will work? Or should I insist on getting another evaluation equating my foreign degree?
Thanks very much!

Hi Manny

Iam not sure what is your other Evaluation. Was it done Course by Course

Regarding your approach for Equivalent : Just a word of caution

When you say Bachelors or Equivalent the Equivalent has to be matching with the Bachelors. It cannot be a lesser Degree ( in this case the 3 Years you have).USCIS may not buy that arugument as otherwise it will become a precedence. They can aapprove cases based on Individual valuations.

Attorney's suggest to go for PERM which is the best bet for 3 Year Degree Guys and advise to mention Bachelors or Associate or equivalent ( best is Just Associate or Equ) in New PERM.

Let us know how your case goes. This might be useful for others

Did you get a second FP notice?

Karns,
We did our first FP in 08/04. At that time, we did ten fingers, signature and picture. Last week we did FP2, It was only 10 fingers.
Since last week, I haven't received anything.

Hi guys,

I got 6 emails this morning (3 for Card ordered message, 3 for approval notice sent messages) regarding my green card application approval. It is quite exciting and I double checked the receit number and verified it is mine.

Still need to wait to get the approvals for my wife.

Cheers!
