Finally, our GC journey is over as of 9/26/2006. I am the primary applicant, never changed job for the duration of the GC applications, never changed address, either. Yet, we were stuck in the PD retrogession for a while. Please see below for the details. All the best to the GC applicants out there...don't give up! still need to enjoy life while waiting for the GC.
PD: 1/23/2002 (Retrogressed country-EB3, PD became current as of 9/1/2006)
I-140 & I-485 RD: 2/17/2004
I-140 AD: 7/30/2004 approved (No RFEs)
I-485 AD: approved 9/26/2006 (No RFEs)
FP1: 11/9/2004 (code 1)
FP2: 9/5/2006 (code 3)
LUD change: 11/16/2004 (FP1 result), 12/22/2004 (no msg change), 3/23/2005 (no msg change), 9/6/2006(FP2 result), 9/20/2006 (no msg change), 9/27/2006 (485 approved), 9/29/06 (GC card ordered and mailed out), 9/30/2006 (I-485 approval notices were received by us)
1st Inquiry on I-485: made on 4/13/2005, reply says pending on routine security check
no more inquiries made after that. stuck with retrogressed PD.

I'm at the I140 stage and have an RFE on my educational qualification. My LC says "Bachelors or equivalent" in "Commerce or Engineering" and thr 140 RFE is the usual 3year not equal to 4 year US degree.
My lawyer got another evaluation that didn't help. So the approach is:
to argue that the AEC reflects BS or equivalent and that "equivalent" refers to any combination of coursework that equates to a BS degree. It will be up to CIS to determine if this is acceptable, but I think we are in a good position to make that argument since it does not say "equivalent degree", just "equivalent".
Is there anyone who can confirm this will work? Or should I insist on getting another evaluation equating my foreign degree?
Thanks very much!

I got 6 emails this morning (3 for Card ordered message, 3 for approval notice sent messages) regarding my green card application approval. It is quite exciting and I double checked the receit number and verified it is mine.
Still need to wait to get the approvals for my wife.
Cheers!
