I would divorte my time in fighting for US PRs spouses/children right.

Allowing spouses/children of US PRs to come to America as quick as possible would be the most important immigration issue.

While I do feel for you and understand that you guys are seeking a better life and for that matter deserve one, my personal opinion is that in this case you are being led by a group of selfish and evil people who are trying to monopolize and use you for their own benefit. Your whole effort is basically trying to blackmail this nation into giving you papers. That is not and will never be a good way to start your citizenship.

I would give you my support in any reasonable and civil effort to legalize your status. I do believe you should be legalized as you contribute to this country and have your place here. However in this, i have to unfortunately say, despicable endevour I cannot support you.

I agree. This country does not owe us (documented or undocumented) anything. I waited long for my GC, was angry with USCIS, mad at Clinton administration for not removing the cap, but never ever did I think I would go and protest in public places. Never mind joining others in walking out on my employer or not buying things on a particular day. I consider it unneccesary and selfish. How dare we demand something from the government that is not even ours? Why don't we go and protest in our home countries which we fled supposedly because we weren't happy there?

If you live in fear, why don't you go back to where you came from? 'You must be legalized'? I think it's the American legislators who will decide that, not you! In the meantime, tomorrow thousands of police and law enforcement will be activated to keep you guys in control. And it's all the taxpayers' money, not yours, since you probably don't pay taxes. My husband employes several illegal immigrants, good guys, work hard and he pays them well. However, tomorrow they are going to protest and his houses are not going to be built, it's going to cost him several thousand dollars. But he is a nice man, so he let them go even he could fire them. So, the bottom line is, by trying to force your demands on this country, you are harming your case and pushing away those who actually sympathize with you.

There is a protest going on mainly because there is a possible law that will make Illegal immigrants criminals. So, they are protesting mainly for this.

Remember, we all applied to asylum, if we had gotten denied most of us we will illegals right now, or have to return to COP.

We, asylees, came to this country because we had problems in our countries. And illegal immigrants also have strong reasons to come here. So, we (asylees) should be greatful that we are legal now, and one way to be greatful is showing respect for others. If you do not have time to go to protest, fine, do not do it. I am glad I am an asylee and have a legal status, however I respect illegals and understand them.

It is so nice to have people like you CL_Asylee who like to present themselves as caring and understanding people on expense of others.

None of us said that we don't understand what ilegal immigrants are going through and that we do not sympatize with them (like you imply here, presenting yourself as the only nice guy here)

What we do not support is blackmail and abuse of democratic privileges that we enjoy here.
First, they are presenting this as the immigration/ no immigration issue which is dishonest as it is clear that US is pro-immigration. The real issue i ilegal immigration.
Second, this call to boycot work and disturb normal life shows their capacity for destruction rather than for contribution. However, I believe that most of these people are manipulated by evil people and it is not their fault as they are honest, hard working people who deserve our support.

As I already said, I would always support those illegal immigrants being legalized. I will however not allow being made a fool and manipulated .

Therefore open your eyes and read carefuly before you post and do not make enemies out of your friends unnecesary.

If I were illegal here, I would probably fight for my cause by organizing meetings and writing petitions on my days OFF. I would not consider walking out on employer just to tell everybody how important I am in this country's economy.

They didn't pick up bulk trash today, because there was a shortage of workers because of the protests. But guess who threw out those sofas and stoves? Their fellow amigos! WE live in a very ethnically diverse area, predominantly Latin Americans. While I do have a clue what this is all about and sympathize with legals or illegals, I don;t think walking out on jobs is the proper way to express your feelings and, moreover, demand benefits.

It's just one day when they try to get attention from others and not coming to their work places is just another way of doing that. I heard there are 11.5 millions illigal immigrants in this country and they are strugglying for their rights. I am pretty sure they will start working tomorrow and will clean up your neighborhood as they do it every day. Why don't you blame let's say airlines workers for going to strike or truck drivers? Illigal immigrants are not slaves. Their life is not very easy that's for sure and keep in mind that all of us could have been in the same boat.

I absolutely don't approve of airlines going on strike either! And some airlines lost thousands of dollars after recent strikes because passengers were pissed and swore not to fly with them again. Of course, the illegals life is not easy. But it's still easier than being back in their countries? They came here knowing it's going to be a long ride, with no light at the end of the tunnel. Again, I do sympathize with them, but walking out on work does not help their case and actually helps people who are against them.
