Do you mean you came back in JUNE last week?

thanks for your replies...
this is what i mean:- i went to india in october 2009 after getting my green card,i stayed there for 3 months and then came back to u.s on 27th january 2010.till then i am currently living in u.s (time period of current stay in U.S is 5 months) and now i am going back on 4th july 2010 for atleast 2 months. so my question is, is there be any problem when i enter back to U.S, should i apply for reentry permit and if i do,how long it takes..??
eagerly waiting for valuable replies
thankyou

Keep the trip under 6 months and you'll be fine. No reentry permit needed, unless you think the trip might last a year, or you are planning a series of multi-month trips with very short stays in the US in between.

Dear, can you more explain about this meaning? Thank you

For example, a string of three or four trips of 5 months each, staying one or two weeks in the US in between trips.

Even though each individual trip is under 6 months, the accumulation of multiple trips of that length so close together could cause a problem at the port of entry if/when the immigration officer notices the pattern of travel. In cases like that, the officer sometimes gives a warning and threatens to take away the GC if they take another trip like that in the near future, or they directly take away the card and tell the individual to see an immigration judge.

But with the reentry permit, especially if it is your first reentry permit, they almost never bother you about your trips, as long as you return before the permit expires.

thankyou so much for your advice,i will take care of that, now i am feeling so easy that i cant explain.
thankyou all once again for your time and advice,i appreciate that.
thankyou
