I am posting this at several places. My apologies if you have seen it several times.
I am currently on F-1 Visa and was recently offered an instructor position at a for-profit educational institution. My OPT will expire early next year, so I need to apply for a working visa.
The Human Resource says that I cannot apply for H-1 B visa right now because the for-profit educational institution is subject to H-1 B CAP. I am wondering whether there is any other type of visa I may apply to remain elgible to work in US, such as J-1, O-1? Or whether there is any way for me to continue to work after my OPT expires? Any inputs will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

I have fairly good professional background: phd from a top school, several journal publications, one patent, active in the field. The for-profit educational institution offers bachelor's and associate degree. The main task of my job is teaching and curriculum development.
