Please help with my TN case!

Hello,

I have a pretty complicated TN case and would like some advice on what I should do:

I am a Canadian who has been coming in and out of the US every few months for quite a while now.

I have been offered a job opportunity with a Fashion company doing a mix of Marketing, Copywriting, Sales and Public Relations.

I have a degree in Communications as well as 5 years of marketing/advertising work experience in Canada.

I have done a lot of research on the TN categories and feel that Technical Writer would best fit my credentials and education. Management Consultant is another option but have heard it is the most difficult category to win.

Can anyone offer ideas as to how to build a strong case as a Technical Writer? What are they looking for?

Do you suggest I do a change of status (I am in the US now) or should I apply at the Canadian/Mexican border entries? I am horrible at interviews which is why I frown at the latter option. Has anyone done a Technical Writer TN? anyone done it through a Change of Status? Are they stricter or more lenient with the Premium Processing Change of Status?
Anyone hear anything about the Vermont service center?

Thank you all for your help!!!

Marketing and copywriting for a fashion company doesn't strike me as "Technical" writing. Perhaps an H might be better? Your timing is good.

Well, you may not have much choice, othr than trying for management consultant.

Look at grasmicks definition, extracted from government occupation definitions, of a technical writer:

http://grasmick.com/dot.htm#Writer,

That is the standard which will be applied to you. Is writing technical procedures and instructions.

And writing is only a small part of what you described your tasks to be , not the major part. The other parts are not TN-elible under their own category.
