Hi All,

I am currently in the US on a B1 visa.

My company has applied for a H1.

I have the following questions -

How long does it take to get H1 approved??

If I get my H1 visa before my B1 expires, do I need to go out of the country for stamping? Or, can I continue to work and get the stamping the next time I go to India.

If I need to bring my wife on H4, when can I do that? What are the procedures? Can she get H4 stamping, before I get H1 stamping??

Read the archives, tracker etc. It all depends on the service center.
Yes if H1 is approved you only need a stamp in passport if you go out of USA and try to come back.
You can use the h1 approval papers and let your spouse apply for H4 at the home country consulate. See consulate's website on the procedures and docs required.
