Please help... no response after interview..

This is for my wife who had filed her N-400 back in 2006.

My wife had her interview in late 2006. The interview went well and she responded all 10 questions correctly.

She told me that they handed her a paper but she does not have the paper now.

Since then, she has not received any response. (No oath was done)

As of June.25th, she has recieved a letter saying that her N-400 was filed but it is missing one or more evidences.

I called the immigration office yesterday and they told me that my wife will be recieving a notification within 90 days and they are in a process of "scheduling" (they did not tell me what they are scheduling for)

Questions:
- Is it possible to schedule for the oath ceremony? (assuming that she had passed her interview in 2006)
- Is it possible to use the previous priority date? (If not, how long would it take for the whole process to go through? I live in NYC)
- She recieved her green card back in year 2000, but they never mailed her the actual card. Would this be the possible cause why they are not sending her response? :confused:

God bless you too ;) Your wife seems to have some complicated immigration history. How did she apply for naturalization without having the Green Card? I believe one of the documents that are clearly listed to be sent along the N-400 is a photocopy of the Green Card ;) It's difficult to know exactly what the situation means. It might mean that they are going to call her for a second interview. I think that happens when there is so much time between interview and oath. In general I would say that having received that letter it means that things are moving. My bet is that she is going to get called for a second interview, and hopefully she will naturalize soon after.
 
She does have A-number and she is supposed to have the card. It is just that it got lost during the process of mailing.

In case of second interview, would it take shorter? (in terms of the approximate wait time)

And she never bothered to look for one??? I guess that is what was missing from her file... I think she will be called for second interview... coz people whose interview was taken long back are often called in for interview .. a formality to know what have changed since.
 
This scenario is very confusing. She never got her GC, and she never tried to call USCIS and talk to them about it until now!?

We attempted multiple times to have them mailed her GC, which never took place..
I have a infopass appointment in august..
I will update.. please let me know if theres anything I can do to shorten this painful process of "road to becoming a US citizen"

I can't believe this story. Your green card lost in 2000 and and nothing happened. I will be camping in the INS office if they wouldn't listen to me. And how could the interview happen without a green card?
 
Typical INS situation. Another member's I-485 was approved, but he did not get a card until a few years later after filing a lawsuit. Court ordered USCIS to issue GC within 30 days. Of course, he made tons of inqueries, letters, but they were BS...ing him all along. They claimed the approval was in error because his background check was not complete. Now he's experiencing the same with N-400. This time he went straight to court. He found out that the USCIS requested 3 name checks and despite the receiving a response from FBI to two of them more than a year ago, the results "are still being evaluated".

OK, back to the subject. Of course she should retain N400 priority date and it is possible to get an approval, even without a green card. She is a permanent resident even if she does not have a card to show for it.

Yes.. Not having her GC did not give her any troubles when she had her interview back in 2006.

Because they knew that her GC was issued in 2000, although she did not possess the card in hand.

If this was caused by a internal mistake, i am thinking of filing a lawsuit..

But before all that, I will have to go to infopass appointment to see what actually happened back in 2006.

Lazycis: is it possible to hear more about a lawsuit.. (things like cost, time.. etc) Thank you!!
