My wife got asylum through me. She had to travel home to attend funeral. She had been advised by local ins office that the expedite process takes three bus. days and she could travel and wait for RTD at home country. She filed for form I-131 and attached documents confirming the death of sibling. Two days later, our lawyer filed for expedite process and attached her pay stubs informing INS that if she is forced to wait for the normal 3months it takes to process she may loose her job and thus subject her to a severe financial loss. However, it has been three weeks now and no RTD yet (INS acknowledged receipt of application though.) I called 1-800 customer service no. and they told me to tell lawyer to send another fax and they confirmed to me that expedite process takes three business days. It has been four days now and yet no word. I do not know what to do now. Does anyone have the no. for the Nebraska office? Is there something else she or I can do to expedite this so that she comes back soonest. Also her NP is expiring next month. Will she need to renew it? Her visa has also expired. Does she need to renew it? Sorry too many questions. I would really appreciate if someone could respond to my questions. Thank you in advance.
