Please help - LucyMO or anyone else-URGENT

I'm a dv 2005 winner from asia and my number will be current in aug .. i applied to the chicago lockbox as per the instructions on the aos application given by my local uscis office ..yesterday after 2 weeks, I got a rejection notice from them ... I had applied AOS for myself and my husband ... my husband's application had a rejction reason of - "this office does not have jurisdiction to accept the application/petition you submitted. The application/petition along with any fees and supporting documentation is being returned to u with this notice. Please submit your completed application/petition to the USCIS office or service center with jurisdiction". My applicatoin had a rejection reason of - "The principal application could not be accepted for the reason specified on the related notice of action. Therefore the processing of all riding applications cannot continue" ... I'm really confused .. I am the principal applicant since I won the DV and my spouse is filing as a dependant ... Any suggestions will be appreciated...thanks !
 
I don't know why they returned your application! I also applied through Chicago lockbox (in January 2005), they sent the receipt and later on they transferred the case to a local office. I am very surprised and have no explanation about this but I think you should get a lawyer immediately...

get an infopass appt immediately and try to talk to an immigration officer asap.

I am suprised this happened. Perhaps, they rejected it because your number will be current in August, and it's not yet current.
 
I have an infopass scheduled for next week .. hopefully i will find out then .. this is so ridiculous .. i would have wasted one month if this is a mistake on their end and time is so precious !!!
 
in I-485 it says you can file it in the local district having jurisdiction or in Chicago lockbox.

I got the entire package of forms from my local uscis office and that said to mail the package to Chicago effective dec 01, 2004 for NY ... I hope it's not a mistake because if they just have me mail the forms back , I would have lost a month !! Is there anything I can do to force them to expedite the case if it is their mistake !

i looked at the fresh I-485 form online, and it has no specific instructions for DV winners.

I am sorry to hear your news... I am a DV2006 winner and will be doing AOS in NYC. I found this info on NYC local office saying that DV based AOS can be filed at their office. The website was last modified on 5/23/05 so they might have changed their policy by now but thought I would let you know.
